QUILTING Faves and NOT-so-FAVES
What is your favorite quilt make of all time?
How does one choose a favorite quilt? Can you choose a favorite grandchild? I would say the Row by Row H20 2015 was one of my favorites because my husband and I traveled the state of Michigan gathering the blocks. We had fun locating the quilt shops. I entered it in our local quilt show the next summer.
What are your favorite parts of quilting?
Choosing a color palette and fabrics.
What are your least favorite parts of quilting?
Free-motion quilting or hand quilting.
Member Spotlight on Learning
When you joined Make Modern Triangles, what did you want to learn and/or accomplish?
I like to learn new techniques and thought it would be interesting to use triangles, plus the block a month seemed manageable.
What has quilting taught you about yourself?
Ha! I’ve learned that I’m very indecisive when it comes to my own choices. I drive myself crazy trying to decide on a certain fabric within a project. So sometimes I just have to walk away for a while.
What do you like about quilting with triangles?
I like the precision and the way they sew out so perfect.
What is your next quilting project?
I will be making a quilt for my granddaughter’s graduation from her t-shirts.
Lynn’s Stash, SEwing Space and INSPIRATION
Describe your fabric stash.
Growing…and growing: I’m a serious collector and started adding fabrics to round out my color and print selections.
Describe your sewing space and what you like about it.
I’m using our extra bedroom for my sewing room. Some years ago I painted it periwinkle and love how it turned out. My husband put built-in cabinets with Formica tops in an L-shape for all my machines. While it isn’t real large, everything is within reach.
Do you belong to a quilt guild?
I didn’t renew my membership this year with our local guild, but I was a member for 20 years or so with the Lighthouse Guild of Grand Haven in Michigan.
Where do you find inspiration for your quilting?
At work. 😉 I work in a fabric store 🥳
When you aren’t quilting, what interests do you enjoy?
I’m semi-retired and still enjoy working, however, I’ve downsized my hobbies to include just quilting, embroidery and some apparel sewing and home dec.
Thank you, Lynn, for sharing your beautiful quilts with us!

Very interesting and fun to read Lynn. Your quilts are beautiful, and I have enjoyed sharing our Modern Triangle Quilt experiences last year.
Was hoping you were still in the guild to show your quilt at the quilt show.
