This week, our Make Modern Triangles member spotlight is Wendy R.

An adventurous quilter, Wendy likes all kinds of quilting and loves to try new techniques.

She has explored many sides of quilting – see her eclectic quilts in the gallery below.

Make Modern Triangles club is a membership program that features the Sparkler BOM in 2022 as well as a library of quilt patterns, tutorials and a member community.

Making Modern Triangles

What do you like about making modern triangles?

I like that each block was different and it was fun to plan out the colors.

What are your favorite parts about making quilts?

Choosing the color palette and fabrics.

Least favorite part?

Binding.

Sewing spaceS and STASH

Describe your sewing space: What do you like about it?

I have a room in the basement with lots of light, love my layout, very easy to work in.

Describe your stash!

Growing! I’m a serious collector and I’ve started adding fabrics to round out my color and print selections.

Do you belong to a quilt guild?

Inspiration

What has quilting taught you about yourself?

I think it is often an escape for me, I get to working on a project and forget about outside life.

When you aren’t quilting, what interests do you pursue?

Reading, knitting, walking, computer programs like EQ8, and the doing website for our quilt guild.

What would you like to learn next?

How to design my own original quilt.

Where do you find inspiration for your quilts?

Mostly the internet. I love following quilters like Rebecca.

What is your next quilting project?

Either a modern type quilt, or a large bug pattern that I have.
