Making quilt blocks is a lot like a puzzle – with more instructions! In this post I’m sharing the Make Modern Triangles member makes slideshow from April which look like puzzles in progress. Bright, bold and a few sublime beauties. And boy, are they stocking up!
Do you enjoy puzzling fabric pieces together? And the triumphant “ta da!” when you finish? And the agony of repeat? Ha!
Which means, there’s a lot of learning going on. Children are naturals at trial and error and if we let ourselves, we learn this way when making quilt blocks, too. (Instructions don’t hurt either!) By this time in a BOM, members know that I alternate blocks each month – easier then challenging, easier and then challenging, and so on. Each month, we build muscle memory for freezer paper piecing, preparing foundations and cutting fabrics in the right sizes. Then, it adds up into something big from the monthly chunks – A BIG TA DA MOMENT before you know it.

The Aurora BOM is starting to look like something – a gorgeous quilt, perhaps?! It’s made with motivation, mistakes and quilter’s grit. Julie summed it up well:
