Celebrating Quilty Progress in all the ways

Even when a beautiful quilt awaits us at the end of the journey, starting and making progress is challenging. Everyone approaches a big project in their own way in their own time. Every project has fits, starts and sputters along the way. Even more reasons to celebrate!
I’m very familiar starting line sputters:
- Learning a new technique. It’s awkward in the beginning.
- A super large quilt. So large.
- Could someone else choose the fabric colors? I just wanna sew the pieces.
- I bought the fabric but I’m having second thoughts. No, third thoughts.
- I want to make it, but also want to make that one. But I should make that other one.
- Decisions. I’ve made enough decisions today.
Do you do a stop-go, maybe later, now thing, too? A tentative step, and then a “Whoa, wait a minute here”?
Here’s what I’ve learned: take baby steps and then congratulate yourself. Then show other people what you did and ask them to congratulate you, too. Okay, just kidding. Sort of.
That’s what I’m doing today – celebrating and congratulating the progress we’ve made together this past month. We’re so much better together!
