Quilt finishes, progress and more popped up in the Make Modern Triangles community this past month.
Wow-weeeeee! These are amazing and so are their makers.
LEARNING CURves
Learning has curves, don’t we know it!
I love Cathy’s comment below. There is so much to love about her quilt, yet, as makers, we know where the loose threads and mismatched seams are hiding. Every last one of them. Does that make our quilt finishes less beautiful? Never.
As learners, we can claim what we’ve learned and always own it, because it was all effort and persistence. These are the ta-da moments that change us. And now we’re better at quilting modern triangles, freezer paper piecing and color because you dared to try.
If you look closely at my quilts, you’ll see seams that don’t match up and a few bumps at big intersections. The same quilt gave me time to create a pretty, colorful project that I love and learned from. If something nags me about a “problem area” in a quilt, I try to remember what I absolutely have to have in a quilt or what I can let go of.
Here’s to learning, making progress, trying again and finishing. You are amazing!
Quilt Finishes, Progress and More
Joyce’s comment made me smile. Such a happy moment! Joyce knows what she learned and where she wants to go with her quilting. Yeah, I get that. So much progress and a goal for the next one. And gosh, it’s so pretty!
BIG finishes
Jakki C. had her big TA-DA moment with her Wildflower finish! So beautiful and the colors are sublime. Congratulations, Jakki!
Susan K. wowed us with her king-sized Cosmos finish and her unique background with prints. And the big reveal…Congratulations, Susan!
Riptide is a quilt from my first book, Modern Rainbow. Our member’s interpretation is stunning! The vibrant color palette and piles and piles of triangles are quilty eye candy.
Cathy’s quilt is larger than it looks. We saw it hanging at a quilt show where she heard lots of “ooooo’s” and “aaaah’s”. Cathy regularly shared her progress with the group with fun monthly block layouts.
Progress! Whoop!
You KNOW the feeling- when the quilt top is pieced and pressed. FEELS AMAZING! Congratulations, Thyiela! The yellow pops of color with a soft blues and greens then puts a pretty spin on your Cosmos.
Cathy H. regularly posted her progress in the Triangle Chatter community and how fun to see it all pieced together! She balanced her bright, saturated colors with browns and blacks.
Ki usually brings bright palettes to her BOM quilts. True to her love of color, she wowed with this analogous palette with a touch of dark blue. I love this twist!
I appreciate seeing your quilt finishes, progress and more so much. Congratulations! Thank you for quilting along with me!
