A BONUS DESIGN FROM EXTRA BLOCKS
Meet i HEART triangles – a mixer pattern made with 40 of your favorite right triangles from the Modern Triangle Quilts book or Make Modern Triangles Club blocks.
I started to make a second version of the Stargazer Block of the Month in the Echinacea colorway, but abandoned it.
Happily, I rescued the triangles to make this lovely quilt. You’ll see from the work-in-progress photos that the background for my quilt was made from background triangles. The pattern isn’t like that! I just had a ton of purple triangles. So I made do and created a new design!
Ta-dah!
Arranging them into a heart-shaped motif was easy and fun. Since I know YOU love modern triangles, I’m sharing the i HEART triangles January bonus pattern for MMT members with you.

SOOOOO, DO I HAVE TO BE IN THE PHOTO?!
That’s me…NOT in love with having my photo taken.
On a scale of one to ten, how much do you like having your picture taken?
If that number is on the lower side, you’re in good company, my photo-phobic friend.
I usually take the photos (AKA hiding behind the camera)…or stand behind a quilt. So, when my teenage daughter took these pics on her snow day, I did my best to hide behind it.
(You’re busy looking at the quilt and NOT me, right? Falling in love with those triangles, right?)
It turns out that…
better than dodging a full length photo taken of me, my daughter gave me a precious memory later that day.
While we lounged on my bed chatting and watching Jeopardy she said, “You’re so cute! I love you so much. Send those photos to me.”
I did a “what’d you say” double take as she grabbed my phone and sent these photos to herself.
(I mean, what a precious moment for a mama!)
So, while I could take a closer look at the pictures to see how goofy I think I look, I’m choosing instead to see that precious moment instead of my flaws.
