Her Quilts, FUN Bags and inspiration
Make modern Triangles member spotlight: Lonnie W.
Make Modern Triangles’ member spotlight is on Lonnie W. this week. Lonnies describes herself as a modern quilter who is tenacious! And that’s because she has vowed to finish a project before starting another. What?! Is that a thing?
She shares her creative space with her husband, a painter, where they spend most afternoons creating, listening to music, laughing and rocking out.
We’re coming over, Lonnie!
What is your favorite quilt make of all time?
I love them all…but my favorite has to be my first one…it’s what got me started!
What has quilting taught you about yourself?
Tenacity….I have vowed never to start one until the last one is finished.
Spotlight on Learning IN MAKE MODERN TRIANGLES
When you joined Make Modern Triangles, what did you want to learn and/or accomplish?
I wanted to learn how to make triangles come to life.
What do you like about quilting with triangles?
I love the geometry and the structure of triangles. They are extremely versatile.
What’s next on your learn-to-do list?
Applique intrigues me.
When you aren’t quilting, what interests do you have?
Bag making. First, masks – then quilts – and now bags!
We love this quilted tribute to a nurse: “Not all angels have wings…some have scrubs.”
Describe your fabric stash.
Growing…and growing: I’m a serious collector and started adding fabrics to round out my color and print selections.
What is your next project?
I am making quilts for the Linus project and will be making my first quilt for the Love Quilt Project as soon as my materials arrive.
Thank you, Lonnie for sharing all of sewing makes and quilts with us. Fantastic!
