You guys! I have so enjoyed reading about your thoughts about color on my Sew Mama Sew giveaway post (there’s still a little time to enter, go!). It would have been great to have set up a survey! (I’m a bit of a math nerd!) And thank you all to are followers and who have recently joined up. I SO appreciate you.
Anyways… speaking of color, I revisited a fabric grouping and a beloved color palette to make a tiny patchwork block, each patch finishes at 1 inch.
In the past I (think I) have spoken about how quilting can be therapeutic for me, especially simple patchwork. Just looking at this little made piece of patchwork soothes me.
The simple play of color. The simple act of sewing the small pieces together. Matching the seams. Aiming for perfection. Yielding to the inevitable imperfection. Pressing seams to the side. Pressing seams open. Standing back and petting the blocks.
It’s just peace.
You want to hear something funny? I fell for that owl pencil holder a few weeks ago. It arrived and I filled it with unsharpened number 2s thinking it was going to be SO FUNNY when my husband started looking for a pencil only to keep picking up duds. (hahaha aren’t I a stinker?!)
He hasn’t even commented on the new addition nor sought a pencil.
Sigh. Well he knows now (hi babe!) and the joke is ruined.
But fortunately the owl is still adorable.
I hope you all are well!

I know how you feel about the patchwork being therapeutic. I'm not a fan of quilt blocks that stress me out – LOL.
