*Pushes… giant … elephant … out an average size door…. dusts hands off*
I made a lot of quilts since November. |
Whew! I did it! I turned in everything for my book deadline. (And everything arrived safely! Praise the Lord!) I’m so excited to share my book and all the quilts with you next year. But for now, I feel like I need the entire year to recover!
These past few weeks I’ve spent some time resting, playing and getting things back in order. My sewing room, which is our dining room, was, as you can imagine, pretty out of control. So I spent some time tidying. I found a great use for my marketing totes… scrap holders! This bag is full of selvedges (time to make another selvedge quilt!).
After making nothing but quilts straight for 3 months I spent some time drawing. I’d love to get back to this drawing of Peonies (my favorite!) with some gouache paints but the problem of not enough time still remains, well, a problem. I need more time!
My oldest daughter turned 8 recently and I she got a new sewing machine. I She loves it!
And now for the playing! I made some scrappy Chicopee binding for Mr. Jones. Who is finally bound and waiting to be photographed.
Then I spent some time playing with some purple feathers. This pattern is from Anna Maria Horner’s Feather Bed quilt pattern.
You may have noticed I haven’t been able to reply back to your comments. I’m sorry for not responding to your comments and thank you for understanding! I will get back to blogging more regularly and responding to your comments.
I’m linking up to WIP Wednesday.

WooHoo!!! Congrats on getting that elephant out of the way and to it's new, temporary home. I'll be looking forward to more information about your book when it is properly announced. Hey, maybe I'll catch you in Houston…I'm trying to find a way to go this Fall.

You've been such a busy bee! I just made my first every AMH feathers, and I am sold on them! Yours are very pretty in those colors. I hope my little girl (she's 2 today) loves sewing so I can get her a little sewing machine like that someday!
