I think I’m addicted to bag making. It’s very similar to my purse addiction. Except better.
So I give you … more bag finishes.
This first bag finish I’m sharing is the “Around the Town Tote Bag” from the fantastic book Liberty Love, by Alexia Marcelle Abegg.
While the book contains projects pairing lovely Liberty prints and quilting cottons, I sadly, I don’t have any (gasp! I know right?) Liberty fabrics. So I used plain old awesome fabric from Chicopee by Denyse Schmidt and Field Study by Anna Maria Horner.
The pattern calls for top stitching on each block, so to add a splash of color I added two lines of top stitching using a teal perle thread in the Chicopee blocks. (You know I love my perle stitches.)
The pattern called for heavy duty thread to sew the leather strap to the bag. I figured perle is heavy duty so I used the same teal thread to attach the strap. I think it’s safe to say teal is my current favorite color.
The bag is perfect for carrying around small things. After forgetting my Bible and my bible study book numerous times this year, this is the perfect tote to help me remember my things. It worked today!
And also I finished my tutorial for my “Traveling in Circles Tote” as part of the Girl Friday Sews Blog Hop. Pop over to the tutorial to get all the details.
Does any one else have an addiction to bags?
I’m linking up to Amanda Jean’s Finish it Up! Friday. I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

This bag is so cute! I really like the fabrics you chose and the teal thread is a really nice touch. I love bags. I don't think one can ever have too many totes and pouches!
