Can you believe my baby will be a one year old in four (three!) short months?
I can’t.
Naturally, I will be making her a quilt to celebrate her birthday.
This is the bonus of babies… To make them quilts.
I’ll be using what is left of my Hushabye collection. My two oldest girls were made twin sized quilts from Hushabye. Those two quilts now reside in Noelle’s room, which is pink and aqua.
Perfect girlie-ness.
So, I’m contemplating the perfect crib sized quilt for her. Something girlie, classic, and sweet.
Super sweet.
In keeping with tradition, I’m thinking Baby-Big-Girl will be a getting a sheep quilt like her sisters before her. They call their quilts “lamb quilts”.
This is my oldest daughter’s quilt. It used to be mine. My mom and I made it together, as mothers teaching their daughters to sew do, when I was maybe 8 or 10. It is a Debbie Mumm quilt pattern with a copyright of 1986. (!)
My middle daughter also received her own lamby quilt.
(Oh man, that was my first quilt I blogged about over here. Don’t you go digging around too much in my archives. I’ve come a long way!)
Since, I’ve made this quilt twice already (I also made a version for a friend) I’m going to be changing up the block a bit. Here’s the plan:
.
Stay tuned!

awww, so cute! I love that all your girls will have the same quilt (and that you did as a child). That, to me, is what quilting is all about – wrapping people in love and tradition!
