I finished three more Wildflowers this past week. They are so fun to make, but I think I will stick with nine for now. I’m eager to get them stitched together into a pillow.
Typically, I am not drawn to making scrappy quilts. Truthfully, I feel a bit incapable when it comes to creating the scrappy look. But I want to stretch myself in this area.
Blue is an Anna Maria Horner Field Study, the plum is from Architextures |
What I like about scrappy quilts is the attention they demand from the viewer. At least on my part, whenever I lounge under a scrappy quilt, I look at the quilt blocks and decide which was my favorite. (That’s my favorite. No, that’s my favorite!)
Not sure about the strawberry, I think it’s a Kokka? The yellow is from Pam Kitty Morning (I think!) |
Choosing fabrics for these wildflowers was a bit difficult because I’m naturally drawn to tone-on-tone or tone-on-white fabrics. So my stash was a bit lacking when I went looking for multi-colored pieces.
Although, I did forget to raid my scrap pile. Dur.
Maybe I do need to make more of these Wildflowers after all?
This is my favorite! Green is an Amy Butler I think. |
Here’s the lot all laid out. I will be stitching them together with the kite pieces in between. I was thinking ash, but white brought out the colors much better.
I can’t resist a picture of a nice stack of blocks.
I am linking up to Lee’s WIP Wednesday.

Love these — what a great pillow! I love doing scrappy projects, but for me they take so much more thought than just using prints from one collection, so it's a lot more time consuming. But worth it!
