My baby dolly *needs* a bigger quilt to cover up with at night. She’s outgrowing her baby quilt. My son has a quilt that he just adores. He is completely attached to it. And of course I love that. What are the chances I could get my baby Noelle to attach to a quilt I make for her?
Whatever the chances are, I’m trying to boost the odds in my favor by setting a goal to give it to her at around 15 months of age (the same age my son was when he got his quilt) and by making it as cute and appealing to a little girl as possible.
I was going to make her a lamby quilt to match her sisters, but I don’t think I can make another of those. Enter the dolly dresses.

I actually bought these panels (one of each) for my two oldest daughters a couple of years ago. (They are Holly Holderman, Dolly Dress Up panels, from 2009 (eep!)) They’ve been languishing in my stash ever since. But Noelle loves her baby dolls, so I think they will be perfect for her.
I have 12 dolly dress up quilt blocks I’m planning on gussying up for my girl. The first blocks feature ric rac (love!) and fancy embroidery (love!).
On this first dolly, I used a chain stitch in white and a lazy daisy and french knot for the flower brooch.
On this dolly, I used tiny ric rac (double love!) and embroidered a cheery cherry brooch, using a satin stitch.
I’m having fun. Can you tell?

Those little panels are ADORABLE!! It's a good thing my girlie isn't looking over my shoulder because I KNOW she would want me to make that for her! 🙂 It's really sweet and you're adding some fabulous little touches there. 🙂
