Aurora BOM makers create over the top flimsy finishes and earn more ta-da’s, oooo’s and aaaah’s this past month. Our progress makers are in the mix, too: making their first modern triangle blocks EVER. It’s the coolest feeling!
While we’re busy busting out the “flimsies” (tops only), we’re feeling so excited about being this close to finishing. With seams in place, we see interesting color transparencies more clearly and the barely there ghost blocks in the background.
GHOST BLOCKS GET SOME GLORY
We started with this…
Shayne combined ghosty background blocks with her bold color love. Don’t you love seeing the start to finish? Shayne’s coloring page is a big bang (as always!) which transformed into a bold statement piece. Fearless, she is!
Shayne’s coloring page above started her creative process. Her finished quilt top below is spectacular and original. Love the blue ghost blocks!
Dark backgrounds make ghost blocks hover in the background. Debbie U. used a printed black fabric to add movement and depth to her quilt. Members commented on maybe trying a dark background on their Aurora quilts.
Some members changed the original design with color, like Debbie’s complimentary color scheme with blue varieties and orange. She decided to make the background blocks pop, which anchored the design.
Louise M. made a two-color version that plays on the contrast between color and value. A lucky veteran will receive this beauty.
Proving that no two rainbows are alike, each member started with a rainbow palette and experimented with colors and value. So creative and fun!
