Southwest Modern Tour

Color· finished quilts· Playful Color· quilt along· video

Hi guys!

Today is my stop on the Southwest Modern Blog Tour! Yip yippie yippie!

I’ve been really excited about Kristi’s book ever since it came out. Well, since she showed me a sneak peek! (Kristi helped me in my market booth last Spring, so I got alllll the details. Well most of the details. Ahem… We had a good time!) I love Kristi’s designs for their minimalistic designs. What an opportunity to let the color shine!

For my project, I chose to do the Angelos Mini. I need a couple of pillows for some chairs so I figured I would use part of the Angelos mini. My plan was to make 2 like the picture above and below.

But you know what? I just couldn’t resist putting all the colors together in one project. And then I had to make a third! I’m so glad I did!

The colors are so fun together. You know bright colors sometimes just work best in a big party of color. You just can’t separate them!

I LOVE how this mini turned out. I’m planning on turning it into a big floor pillow!

What do you think? With big Big Stitch quilting? Wouldn’t that be fabulous!?

Check out my YouTube video:

For more on how I chose the colors for my Angelos mini, check out my YouTube video. You’ll also get a sneak peak in the book and I’m showing you a cool HST notion, Perfect HSTs, that really helped me make my HST units.

Here’s the rest of the gang participating in the Hop:

Your choice of colors is terrific. Great interpretation of the design.
My favorite vacation is the one and the place I am! Really! Have been lucky to tag along with my husband on many of his working trips, and every place we are is my favorite. Although one time I got to go to NYC for eight days with a friend and we had so much fun going to museums during the days and then to theatre for the evenings. I so enjoyed that time! We spent one day just walking and ended up seeing wonderful places and stores.
    Thanks for the chance.

I’ve been teaching quilting for over a decade, and I’ve been teaching quilting for over a decade, and I’ll still remember the first time that I learned this. 👇

It completely changed my quilty life, and I’ve never looked back!

At one point early on in my quilting days, I almost gave it up altogether because I was so frustrated with ripping tiny bits of paper out of my seams.

My fingers hurt, it took forever, and I was over it! I still have unfinished blocks that have paper on them from those days... 😅

And then someone taught me what I have now taught thousands of other quilters, and I fell back in love with it all over again.

You can try for yourself by taking my free class and see how you like it!

And that act of making time for yourself is something that you have to do. It’s essential. And above all, you deserve it! 👏
