Paintbox Solids Giveaway {Fat Quarter Shop}

fabric

18 Aug

Updated: Giveaway Closed! Jessica Shea won the bundle. I want to thank you for playing. It is really enjoyable and fun to see so many of us at different stages of life. There’s such a diverse group of us! We range from buying school supplies for oneself, to buying school supplies for younger children, to those of us shelling out big dollars for college. Every time I ask a question for a giveaway, I think the idea of asking a question is silly, but then I do so enjoy getting to know you all. So, I thank you for taking the extra time to share a bit about yourself.

What a great response on this bundle. Thank you!

Today I have a giveaway for you courtesy of Fat Quarter Shop. Yah!paintboxbasics-solids-fqb-front

Fat Quarter Shop is offering a Fat Quarter Bundle of the Solid Paintbox Coordinates for one of my readers.  Look at these incredible colors in the Paintbox Basics Solids bundle! This bundle coordinates with Elizabeth Hartman‘s latest fabric line, Paintbox Basics, due to hit stores any day now!

paintboxbasics-solids-fqb-sm

You all know Fat Quarter Shop, right? They carry a wide selection of quilting cottons from all design walks, and they also publish many inspirational and instructional resources such as project sheets and YouTube videos. They ship world wide, which I know is very important for my international readers. You can also find Fat Quarter Shop on Facebook and Instagram.paintboxbasics-solids-fqb

To enter the giveaway for this luscious bundle, please leave 1 comment on this post. It’s back to school season: tell me do you enjoy back to school shopping? I used to, but it’s a bit stressful now, ha! In your comment, please share what school supply you like the best? (You’ll know which one is your favorite because you carry it around like a baby and pet it. No? Just me?)

My followers, new and existing, get a second entry. If you are a follower please leave a second comment letting me know.

The giveaway is open for all. If you are an anonymous commenter, please leave an email address.

The giveaway will close Monday (August 22nd) and I’ll update this post with the winner.

Good luck!

I’ve been super lucky for the past few years. My oldest are twins and they are only in pre-k this year, so back to school shopping is pretty minimal anyway. I have a dear friend with twins two years older than mine who passes down their clothes to us. They are all in excellent condition and so so cute! So when it’s time for back to school shopping, we just open up the next box and it’s like Christmas!
Which is a good thing because I’m a sucker for new school clothes and I would spend WAAAY too much money.

Ohhh…these FQs are YUMMY! I don’t have any kiddos to buy supplies for, so I buy supplies and donate them (through my day job). I just love buying new crayons! Sometimes I open the box just to make sure they are all pointy perfect and in order. Puts a smile on my face just thinking about it…kinda like this Paintbox fabrics line, can hardly wait for it to show up! Thanks so much to FQS for the give-away! 🙂

Back to school shopping doesn’t bother me a bit anymore, now that I’m an empty-nester and semi-retired teacher! Yeah, I used to hate it, though, when the kids were home and in school. They didn’t like school, so didn’t like shopping for it either. I still like to buy a few new mechanical pencils when the new supplies come out. It seems like I’m always losing or misplacing my current favorite ones!

Now they are all teenagers and don’t want to shop with me. so, I wait until a few days after school starts and go to target.
their back to school clearance is amazing– I buy graph paper notebooks and reg notebooks and every kind of pencil imaginable.
I usually have enough for my notes and lists and drawings for a year — an enough to share w the teenagers who “forgot they needed something”

I don’t shop for school supplies but I do shop for myself at this time of year. It is when you can find a big box of sheet protectors or label makers at reasonable prices. Also I buy for charity backpacks.

There’s so much pressure on us in the quilting wor There’s so much pressure on us in the quilting world to finish what we started. 👇

But if you’re stuck staring at a stack of unfinished blocks, and it’s keeping you out of the sewing room because it’s the last thing you want to sew right now, this is the advice that I would give you.

It’s okay to put a project down for a while. 🫶

I’ve had projects and quilts that sat folded up for weeks… months… even longer. Projects I avoided because I got stuck, or lost momentum, or honestly just wasn’t in the mood to sew that anymore. AND IT’S OKAY! 🙌

Every single time I came back to them after putting them down for a while, I felt that spark for sewing again. I felt the inspiration that I started the project with, and I started ENJOYING it again. ✨

So if you have something that you’re avoiding sewing, let this be your permission slip to just put it down and know that you’ll come back to it when the time is right.

I’m not even exaggerating when I say that I probab I’m not even exaggerating when I say that I probably would have saved hundreds of hours if I knew the magic of freezer paper piecing when I first started quilting. 😅

There was a time when I almost gave up quilting altogether because I HATED paper piecing so much, and it took me so long.

Having to sew through your foundations, spend countless hours ripping paper from the seams, having sore fingers, and not even wanting to do it anymore... That’s where I was with the whole paper piecing thing. Ready to just throw in the towel.

And then a friend introduced me to Freezer Paper Piecing, and it changed my life forever. I have never looked back, and now I LOVE paper piecing. 🙌

Instead of tearing paper out of every seam, I could just peel it off… and use it again... and again... and again!

It was like magic. And it still feels like magic every time I do it! 🪄

Comment “FREEZER” if you want to take my free class and experience the magic yourself. 💕
