It’s been awhile since I’ve participated in a WIP Wednesday. I had gotten out of the habit, but I do think it’s good to share WIPs to see the process behind the quilts.
This week I’m working on an upcoming Sizzix tutorial, which will be a candy corn inspired quilt.
October is my very most favorite month. I love all the Autumn activities, the weather, and the changing leaves, and even chrysanthemums (it took me only 3 tries to spell that). Never mind my birthday is in October; I think I would love October even if my birthday were in January.
And so this week finds me making my Halloween inspired quilt using Cotton and Steel‘s Spellbound fabrics.
I’s a super easy quilt in that it’s scrappy so there’s not too much decision making going on. I feel like I’ve been making a lot of choices (fabric choices not life choices) lately. It’s nice to give my poor brain a break. I hope I don’t sound daft, but this project has been enjoyable because I can sit and sew without thinking.
It’s far from perfect but that’s ok. I’m just enjoying making this one. Sew and press and repeat.
I even enjoyed pinning the rows together for this quilt.
And I’m so impressed with myself that I had the foresight to buy fabric for a quilt back. And it’s so cute! Now I don’t have to wait a week to quilt it! (Yes, I EVEN have thread!)
What are you working on this week?

My brother has a theory that a person most loves the season that they were born in… while perhaps it holds no scientific evidence, it does hold true for me! (and it would seem for you too!)
Looks like a really fun and easy quilt. I've been working on the backing for a quilt that I've had a long time in the making, and boy am I ready to get it finished up!
Greetings from Germany!

That's really cute! I like to have a 'no thinking' project every once in a while too! I love that it's not done up in the traditional Halloween colors.

This is going to be a brilliant quilt! Proof that indeed – you can make a modern quilt from novelty prints and candy corn, LOL!!

I'm with you on that backing fabric, its gorgeous! I'm loving the way this quilt is coming together too, sometimes a no thinking quilt is just what you need.

Your fabrics in this quilt are fabulous, and I adore the backing fabric you bought to go with it. I can't wait to see it finished!

It was a pleasure meeting and visiting with you at O'Sewpersonal on Saturday! I loved seeing your quilts in person! Best wishes on your book and future endeavors!
