Oh dear, I’ve had this one finished for quite awhile!
This finish was too easy. I top stitched each raindrop and cloud and then I added a loose serpentine stitch for the quilting. White binding finishes the quilt.
(You can see the original post with details about my favorite applique technique here.)
A close up of the stitching:
For the back, I used pieces of the the purple – blue – green color way. The fabrics are all From Bump to Baby by Gina Martin. Completely lovely pastels if I must say!
My darling middle girl who will be 7 in a matter of daysย TODAY helped me take the pictures on a late summer evening. There was a bit less light than I thought, but she was so proud helping me. She proclaimed herself better than Daddy and then complained knowingly about how her arms hurt. I love her so!

This is a darling small quilt. Your helper is learning young. Love the little feet underneath and the fingers on the side.

Love it. Very cute, and a nice, easy way to do the applique. I imagine if you wanted to you could layer up the whole cloth top and pieced back and do the serpentine or linear quilting first. Then position the appliques and stitch around them avoiding all the stopping and starting where the background quilting runs into the applique?

So very cute! It makes me smile! Especially that your daughter was so proud of herself! Too sweet!
