Today, I’m happy to begin to share my quilts from Modern Rainbow: 14 Imaginative Quilts that Play with Color. If you’d like a signed copy, you can buy one in my shop. You can also purchase one from Amazon or a local quilt shop.
QuiltCon is just 2 short weeks away – so over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing the quilts from Modern Rainbow that will be at the show. It seems natural that I begin at the beginning, er rather with the cover quilt. The quilt is called Wavelength.
This is probably my favorite quilt from Modern Rainbow. I had so much fun with the choosing the colors. The colors seem to me like a mix of modern and pop music and all things digital. The quilt is also a lot of fun to make in that it is improvisationally pieced. There’s a lot of room to put your own interpretation on the the technique, as well as colors.
The quilting was done by none other than Angela Walters. She nailed it with the geometric quilting, my fave! Thanks Angela!
The white-on-white pictures make it difficult to see the edges of the quilt. Here’s a picture I took with my phone before I sent it off.
I’d love to show you a picture of it in my home. But! I haven’t seen this baby in almost a year. As soon as I pieced the top, I shipped it off to Angela. Then as soon as she shipped it back, I shipped it off to Stash. They kept this quilt for marketing purposes, so look for it in Stash’s booth (Booth 824) at QuiltCon!
If you’d love to take this workshop, you’re in luck! I’ve put together the virtual, on-demand version where you can find here.

It's beautiful! I love a good rainbow! 🙂 Very cool how it looks like the triangles are overlapping to create another color where they overlap.
