Hi guys! Today, I’m going to share a fun, oh so easy, DIY, handmade Christmas ornament tutorial. This would be a great craft to do with your kids but it is so easy your kids could work on this garland by themselves while you bake cookies or take a long winter’s nap. Ahem.
Introducing the Glitter Garland.
You will need a pack or two (or five!) of metallic pipe tinsel pipe cleaners, or chenille stems. Also grab your sturdy scissors and a ruler if you are a perfectionist.
First, cut just a bit off each pipe cleaner. I cut about 2 to 2.5 inches off each pipe cleaner. (Note: parents, please don’t let your little kids do this step!)
Next, make a ring by twisting the pipe cleaner around itself. Then insert another pipe cleaner through the first ring.
Twist the pipe cleaner …
and wrap the ends around the pipe cleaner so that they don’t stick out. Then reshape the ring as needed.
Continue the process until you’ve used up all your tinsel pipe cleaners.
And that’s it! Isn’t it pretty? Now hurry up and drape it on your Christmas tree to add a sparkly punch.
A Glitter Garland made from one package measures roughly 5 feet long.
I’ve made one Glitter Garland a year for the past few years and I just love the extra color it adds to my tree. My kids love them too. Although, the rings do need some occasional reshaping from all the love from my kids. ๐
Enjoy! And I’d love to see your Glitter Garland if you make one!
Merry Christmas!
