I’m a terrible mother.
Wouldn’t this quilt make a fantastic Christmas present? Think about it… a Christmas present finished in September? Oooooh boy, I’d be such a great mother!
But alas… I’m a terrible mother with an incredible lack of self-control in that I cannot wait until a birthday or Christmas to tickle their fancies.
There’s no way I could wait for Christmas to give this happy, red quilt meant for my eldest daughter. I need to see her little eyes light up. I need to see her tucked up in bed under this beauty.
And I need to see it now! I’m so selfish… No really, I go upstairs and get them out of bed just so I can see that look. That giddy “that’s for me?!” look. I’m terrible.
And my kids love to have a terrible mom! (Sometimes I feed them junk food too!) Which in turn does not discourage me from being terrible in the future.
So fun. Sometimes being a terrible mother works out in both parties’ favor. It sure makes up for those times when I’m a good mom feeding them vegetables and making them to homework, geeeezzz.
But no seriously, I’ve got three other children eyeing me suspiciously. I can see their thoughts across their adorable foreheads… Where’s my quilt? Guess I’ll go on being terrible then. Such a horrible thing to be.

What a beautiful quilt! I"m not surprised you couldn't hold off handing it over. It must have brought a lot of happiness. Doesn't make you a bad mother, but does mean you're going to have to make something else for Christmas:-)

This is possibly my very favourite Scrappy Trip that I've ever seen. And aqua and red aren't even colours that I go for that much, but you have truly made them sing. Lucky girl, your daughter.

Your quilt looks great! I finished a Scrappy Trips this week, too. It's a present for my husband.
I love how different this pattern can look with the different fabric choices and settings.
