Count me among those who love the Staple Dress pattern by April Rose. When I first saw the dress and pattern I immediately wanted to purchase it. But knowing I wouldn’t be able to work on the dress right away (I could sew 24/7 for a straight year and maybe complete my WIPs, gulp!) I waited. Aside from my WIP list, I wasn’t looking forward to taping the pieces together on a digital pattern. But then April (Mrs. Rose?) came out with a paper pattern. Yah! So, I bought it. Yah!
And I made one. Yah!
The inspiration for the chambray and coral pink combination came from a chambray romper my mom purchased for my baby girl. Her romper even has a coral flamingo embroidered on it. I decided against the flamingo for my dress. ๐
The coral sleeve and collar detail idea came from Meredith. If I could, I would visit her and pet all her creations and then sneak off with several.
The shirring wasn’t as difficult as I expected. It was so much fun, so I anticipate lots of shirring in the future.
I really do love it and can’t wait to make another. But there’s that WIP list, and the back to school list too. Gotta tackle some of those first!
I’m linking up with Finish It Up Friday.

Oh, I love the coral with the chambray. Is that that new RK chambray that everyone's rumbling about? This is going to be such a versatile piece for fall-winter-spring. Just think how yummy with ballet flats, and then with boots and a chunky cardi…
