Inevitably, when visiting my parents, treasures find their way home with me. This trip is no exception.
My dad lent me some ancient books that I hope to read my children during the upcoming school year. These books belonged to my great-grandfather, who served as a headmaster of a private school somewhere out in the Northeastern United States. My great-grandfather read the books to my father when he was a boy. This particular book, Robin Hood, was published in 1923.
There’s not much to the copyright page, just the basics. The book is in pretty bad shape. Some of the illustrated pages are well loved and falling out.
In preparation for a series on my family’s vintage quilts, I’ve taken pictures of all the antique quilts at my mom’s house. The quilting on each is phenomenal.
And lastly, my mom gave me her old Ball Jars that were languishing in her basement. Yah! I love ball jars.
Particularly the Ball jars with this type of lid.
I love this color. Perhaps a like colored quilt is in order?
Thus far I’ve mostly avoided things I don’t want to take home, like high school year books. Don’t tell my mom though, she’ll load up my car with my old junk before I can stop her. ๐
