As I mentioned earlier this week, I’ve been feeling kind of scattered lately. In the past few weeks I’ve been so indecisive! I mentally pace back and forth between decisions. It’s making me nuts!
My grandmother, a mother of four, once told me, when I was young (younger! darn it, youngER) and single, she admired my ability to make a decision and move forward. I laugh now because I certainly am not that way now. Maybe it’s the four kids, maybe it’s my advancing age. Maybe it’s all this responsibility! I would love to be able to talk to my Grandma now as a grown woman (seriously, when did I become a woman?), but she passed away almost 9 years ago, a month after I got married. π I miss her.
More to the quilty point, my indecisiveness has run over into my sewing as I started several new projects without finishing projects I had intended to finish before another start. Heh…
In the spirit of accountability, I’ll make the list.
First a finish *pats self on back while guiltily gaping at pile of unfinished bizness*
A Boy Named Sue quilt, that’s funny “Walk the Line” is on TV |
Newbies (oh mah goodness, there are three!):
1. A pillow for my new couch in my new house:
That pillow is Heidi’s fault. She made such a pretty mini. There are many a similar block around flickr using this fabric but her binding sold me. Plus she may have published a direct link to the store where I subsequently purchased a fabric bundle for myself. No indecision there, eh?
2. A super secret little something for my (patient, and loving, and giving) mom’s birthday. I can’t show you. But I can tell you it is purple. Ssshhhh!
3. And a completely irresponsible start in that this project will likely take months if not years to finish (8 out of 122 segments to go…). But look how pretty! (Sorry for the pic quality. I think I need different lighting for that combo!)

Red and White Double Wedding Ring |
In progress:
1. Still need to bind Noelle’s quilt. I should be getting some time to work on stitching the binding soon!
2. Tammy’s swap project. I’m excited about this one but am at a crossroads at how to proceed. And I’m not so good with the decisions right now…
3. Farmer’s Wife. I need to finish at least one block to have 40. I’d love to finish more but I’d also like to finish.
And… I think I’ll be taking a little break from blogging for awhile, or at least blogging about sewing. The house we bought is a fixer upper. We are doing a lot of work fixing it up. Needless to say there will be before and after pictures that I will post. You know if you’re into that kind of thing! π

You certainly have a lot on your plate right now… I love that red-and-white double wedding ring quilt-to-be!
I enjoy watching WIPs… even houses in the process of being updated!

Wow – that is a lot of projects but it's nice to have a variety of stuff so that you can work on whatever strikes your fancy. I truly LOVE the way you're approaching the Farmer's Wife blocks – that colour progression really works. Fabulous!
Thanks for linking up to WIP Wednesday and enjoy fixing up your fixer upper!

Lots of nice things in the works. Don't be too hard on yourself. Sometimes we have to start something new, to keep us inspired.

See now I think of this as having diverse likes, you like to do lots of different things……what is wrong with having lots of WIP? I think it is fine :0) Are you paper piecing the beautiful red and white block? What color/s are you going to make the bits in between? Okay I have been quilting for over 30 years…….how many WIP do you think I have? You are right! too many to count!
Happy Sewing, remodeling, mothering and summer

Boy can I relate to where you're at. It's incredible to me how much I've changed since I was single. Sometimes I don't even feel like the same person anymore. It's not all bad, but it does catch me by surprise sometimes.
I laughed when I saw your mermaid pillow. My fault! Love it!!
You have some incredible projects in the works, Becca. Love your sense of color and the fabrics you're using. Can't wait to see the house pictures and eventually more sewing pictures. Be sure to stop and breathe once in a while!

Wow, you've got some gorgeous projects on the go!

Love your new double wedding quilt. Bring on more irresponsibility I say. Which brings me to your FWQ. I absolutely love where you're going with this and think you should continue well past 40 blocks. Call it a long term project and aim to do one block a week, fortnight, month, whatever and then it doesn't really count towards your WIP list. Because it's planned to be long term π

Personally, I think it an asset to have lots of projects going at once. That way when the spirit moves one way or another, there is a project that fits. As long as you are finishing the projects that have a "due by" date — and Noelle *was* early & she really doesn't *need* a quilt in the summer — I think you are smart to have several on-going projects.
And the red & white wedding ring will be JOYFUL!
