Hi there!

It is my immense pleasure to share some fun news with you all!

Yes! I am a new designer for Robert Kaufman fabrics! See? There I am all official like on the RK website.

This is Panache, my first fabric collection. As you might expect, my fabric is playful and colorful, and mixed with the boldness of black and white. There are 6 different designs and 30 total fabrics in these bright, playful colors and bold black and whites.

It has been ridiculously fun to work with my own fabric. Any nervousness on my part completely disappeared when I received my sample yardage and began to sew. And though, I’m really excited to see what you guys make with it, Panache will ship to shops in October so we’ll have to wait a little bit. For now, here’s a glimpse of the quilts and projects I’ll be showing at Spring Quilt Market (May 19-21) in my schoolhouse and booth.

This is Feathered Stars, and it is a variation of a quilt I showed you last summer. Each layout is fat quarter friendly. This particular layout makes use of those killer black and white stripes. Feathered Star is made using a strip piecing technique which is a no muss no fuss, watch Netflix while you sew kinda pattern. It’s a lot of fun to make. Look for this pattern, which will include both layouts, later in Spring/Summer.

This is Cakewalk. Cakewalk will be a free pattern over at Robert Kaufman. Cakewalk is also a fat quarter friendly pattern. Once again, I just had to use those killer stripes to frame each star. This pattern is fun to make as well because you can cut out all the pieces and mix and match the colors in different ways, which I think gives it a vintage feel. Each star block kinda looks like a cake or pie plate, don’t you think? Yum!

    Love this line so much — but boo for having to wait until October!

    I’m making a quilt right now with the exact same block as the Cakewalk quilt! I found the block design in a book of fat quarter quilt blocks and am loving how it looks. The book I had uses templates, but I redid the construction with a combo of paper piecing and normal piecing. I’m really curious to see how yours is put together!
