You know how when you’ve set out to make something for Christmas… you get distracted by other things to make. Or is it that you are always easily distractable by new shiny projects to make and you just notice this predilection under a deadline. 
I have a good excuse. I’m making presents for my daughters and I can only work on them at certain times. Plus my husband and I are leaving the kids at grandma and grandpa’s house this weekend and GETTING AWAY.

This finish is Charlotte’s fault. I saw it and thought I need it for my travels. 
(nods head convincingly)

A tip: carefully singe the ends of your ribbon with a lighter to prevent fraying. 
After searching for over a year for cinnamon chips at the grocery store. My perseverance finally paid off. Scones are something I like to make every Christmas and this year I will be making cinnamon chip scones. But I had to test the recipe out. (It’s yummy, phew!)

We had planned to have our fireplace up and running by this week. The weather has turned “chilly” this week, so we were looking forward to cider and marshmallows by the fire. Unfortunately, when we had it inspected this week the inspector said we needed to fix it with a special treatment only their company is licensed to perform for a mere $6000.
I think we will be getting a second opinion. 
Or a candelabra. 
And finally, I’m nearly finished making a new top for myself.

    I am so with you on the distraction thing — that's me in a nutshell. Isn't it great how people say things like "$6,000" as if it's an amount you're keeping in your purse for emergencies?
