I love this fabric. Here’s a sneak peek of how I’m using a few of the Uppercase fabrics for an upcoming blog post.

To enter the giveaway please leave 1 comment on this post. It’s the season for summer vacations and it seems there are 2 types of people. Those that plan their vacations and those who go with the flow! (We like to go with the flow!) In your comment, please share whether you like to plan your vacations or go with the flow?Ā

My followers, new and existing, get a second entry. If you are a follower please leave a second comment letting me know.

The giveaway is open for all. If you are an anonymous commenter, please leave an email address.

The giveaway will close next Wednesday (July 20th) and I’ll update this post with the winner.

Good luck!

My hubby and I have become spur of the moment trip planners, we saw a Tv ad for Prince Edward Island, Canada, we looked at each other and next thing I was on the computer booking hotels room, theatre tickets to see the musical “Anne of Green Gables” and day trip bus tour….. Needless to say we had a very relaxing mini vacation

We plan where we’re going in advance, but don’t generally plan what we’re going to do while there. We just figure it out when we get there! šŸ™‚

No reservations, just driving and look for a hotel when its time for dinner. Found one of our favorite Hotels (Benbow Inn) that way in Northern California.

We often plan a destination and the first night’s accommodation then go from there. A couple of years ago we visited the USA bought a caravan (trailer) and tow car and headed west from Lansing, Michigan with only a few dates pencilled in after daughter’s graduation at MSU eg Indy 500, Pykes Peak Hill Climb, Bonneville (cancelled ?) and our flight home! Great way to visit a country. Husband went to craft breweries and I visited quilt shops and exhibitions!

Depends on whose going whether there is much planning and location. A trip to NYC is a little of both, especially when looking for show tickets. Just got back from a 5 day trip to the Oregon coast. Felt the need to spend some time with nature. Booked one nights hotel in advance and then each morning figured out where I would spend the night and booked then.

I’m a major planner! Since marrying a go-with-the-flow guy and now having a toddler, I’m trying to ease up a bit. My current approach (which I love) is to do a lot of research ahead of time, so that I have a menu of options going into the trip. Then we can select an activity for the day based on weather, moods, etc. I hate wasting time on vacation to the “what do you want to do?” “I don’t know, what do you want to do?” “I don’t know, is there any place to go hiking?” discussions.

If my WIP pile was getting out of control… here’s If my WIP pile was getting out of control… here’s exactly what I’d do: ā¬‡ļø

šŸ‘‰ Find a community of quilters to connect with, learn from, and grow with. People who cheer you on, celebrate your blocks, and make you want to keep going!!!

šŸ‘‰ Make it easier on yourself with freezer paper piecing. This technique completely changed my life. I wanted to give up on quilting altogether at one point before I found freezer paper piecing.

It’s not that you don’t finish quilts…

It’s that you don’t have the right support or the right process yet. 🧵✨ Comment ā€˜FREE’ to take my free class, learn the freezer paper piecing technique, and get invited to join an amazing community. šŸ’•

One stitch at a time!!! 🪔 Sometimes, a few hours One stitch at a time!!! 🪔

Sometimes, a few hours (or days) in the sewing room just makes it all alright. šŸ™Œ

The number of blocks I can sew from just ONE foundation! šŸ™Œ

It always amazes me, and it’s one of my favorite things about the technique.

I save so much time not having to make a new foundation for every single block, and that’s not to mention the time saved from not having to rip the paper bits of those foundations out of the seams. ✨

I’m hosting a free class where I teach you this technique, and give you a modern triangle block pattern to start sewing!

There’s so much pressure on us in the quilting wor There’s so much pressure on us in the quilting world to finish what we started. šŸ‘‡

But if you’re stuck staring at a stack of unfinished blocks, and it’s keeping you out of the sewing room because it’s the last thing you want to sew right now, this is the advice that I would give you.

It’s okay to put a project down for a while. 🫶

I’ve had projects and quilts that sat folded up for weeks… months… even longer. Projects I avoided because I got stuck, or lost momentum, or honestly just wasn’t in the mood to sew that anymore. AND IT’S OKAY! šŸ™Œ

Every single time I came back to them after putting them down for a while, I felt that spark for sewing again. I felt the inspiration that I started the project with, and I started ENJOYING it again. ✨

So if you have something that you’re avoiding sewing, let this be your permission slip to just put it down and know that you’ll come back to it when the time is right.

Put your favorite emoji in the comments if you needed to hear this. šŸ’•
