Oh, I love the eye candy. I am busier this summer than in a long time. I entered my first two entries in a local quilt show in early June, so that was hectic to then finished and ready (especially since it was my first time). I'm spending over two weeks with my daughter's family, being Grandma while she is gone most of the time. Then in mid-July I have a weekend retreat with Laura Wasilowski. I need to fit my other grandson in for a week visit a my house. Then I'm going on a quilt tour in England in early August. I also need to put together a 5-10 minute education segment each month for guild meetings. I volunteered to help with a new formed widow's program and participate in a group, Today I cut over 125 1" finished per side hexagons to take with me on a trip in August. When I saw your solids, I fell in love. I love blue and I'm trying to use a different solid color in each of my flowers in the queen Grandmother's Flower Garden I am quilting. So, I pick up a piece of solid from time to time. I'm thinking about buying a jelly roll of solids. It doesn't take much of a fat quarter to cut 6 solid hexagons of that size and it takes a bite out of a full fat quarter. Some places you have to buy even more. With a jelly roll, I'd have plenty and then "remnants" from the strips, if I'm ever crazy enough to think about hand piecing (not EPP) another GFG. Enjoy your children. I know you know how precious they are. I'm having fun with my 3 and 8 year old grandsons. I think we all need times to sit, plan, and even just enjoy fabric. I have to be busy and my mind is always whirring. Thanks for sharing your fabric and lovely creations.
Looking forward to seeing what all of these lovely projects are that you are working on slowly; but surely. My To-Do list isn't much smaller; but at least I've been able to cross off 2 big things that had to be finished this month. Here's to Summertime!
