Yah! We’ve come to the fun part, putting all the blocks we’ve worked on for the past few weeks together into one happy quilt top!
Once you’ve come this far, the hard part is really over. Now it’s just a matter of laying out your blocks, sewing them together into rows, and piecing the rows together. So let’s get right down to it!
Quilt Top Assembly
Tip! Before you sew your blocks in to rows, you may want to consider trimming all the blocks, from Weeks 1-6 to the same size. For example, mathematically the blocks are supposed to measure 16 1/2” x 16 1/2” unfinished. I found it necessary to trim all of mine down to 16 1/4” x 16 1/4”.
- Sew the blocks into rows as indicated by the quilt top assembly diagram below. Press the seams to the side in alternating directions by row.
- Sew the rows together to complete the quilt top. Press the seams as desired.
Finishing
- Make a quilt backing 88’’ x 88’’.
- Baste and quilt as desired.
- Bind the quilt using your preferred method and enjoy!
