The quilt block caught my eye a few years ago. After several failed attempts over the years to recreate the pattern, it finally clicked a few months ago. And so here we are. Piecing involves piecing curves and Half Square Triangles (HSTs), so the pattern may not be for beginners.
The B.F.F. quilt pattern offers two different takes on the block. One version has pieced arcs and the other version calls for plain ole’ unpieced arcs.
Here’s a look at a block with solid arcs. (I’m working on another version with solid arcs and once that’s done I’ll send this pattern to be printed, yah!)
This particular version uses Heather Ross’s latest whimsical fabric collection called Tiger Lily. It’s full of flowers and kitties. It’s pretty dreamy and perfect for taking pictures in a deep green late summer garden.
I made the throw version which finishes at 78” x 78”. It’s a wonderful size for a grown-up to take a nap under, ahem. ๐ The pattern includes instructions to make a mini, child, throw, twin, and queen quilt sizes.
For the quilting, I used the Baptist Fan which is one of my all time favorite designs. It’s so classic.
I love this quilt block and pattern and I hope you do to! ย For the next week the B.F.F. quilt pattern and all my other PDF patterns are on sale for 30% off in celebration. Use code “BFF30” at checkout.
Stay tuned for versions made from my lovely, wonderful and oh-so-helpful pattern testers.
Thank you!
