Yesterday I received an email regarding my nomination for “best quilting blog” in a contest run by the National Quilter’s Circle. Apparently “multiple” people have nominated be and have “raved” about my blog.
Well, I just wanted to pop by here to say thank you to those “multitudes” (multiple means more than a couple right?) who have nominated me. Thank you for thinking of me and I’m touched! Receiving that email made my day!
Thank you thank you!
And if you are interested in nominated me, er I mean your favorite quilting blogger, just click on that there button. Moving on to the next round is dependent on how many nominations I, er I mean your favorite blogger, receive(s). Once you nominate me, I mean someone, you are entered to win an Annual Premium Membership to National Quilter’s Circle.
π
Again a big thank you!

Hi – I read an interesting post about the 'National Quilters Association' award yesterday – you might want to check it out. http://thebitchystitcher.blogspot.co.nz/2015/04/please-neglect-to-nominate-me-for-this.html
I hesitated before passing this on, but it points out how this a marketing ploy more than an official quilting body, and I thought it was probably best you were properly informed.

Yeah, it did (does) reek of marketing scheme doesn't it? I mostly posted to thank the peeps who nominated me. One of my quilty friends had taken the time to email me her confirmation. While, I don't expect to "win", it is cool to get those emails. And I want to show my gratitude.
But yes, we should be aware of these contests and the true motivation – good or bad – behind them. I appreciate you leaving the link to Megan's post. I know you put a lot of thought into whether to comment here, but I appreciate your intentions.
Thanks!

Yay Becca!! I've been in contact with the marketing person over there and they seemed very professional and legit to me. π I agree with you – I never expect to win any of these things either. It's just fun to be nominated. It's like a pat on the back or a high-5 for what we enjoy doing – sharing our process with our readers. Keep up the great blogging and sharing! –Christa Quilts (Sorry – I don't know why it won't let me post as me??)

Done! Good luck! I am almost done with a variation on your Big Geese quilt, also in blue, with a different quilting pattern, but very much inspired by yours. It is for my niece. Thanks for the inspiration!
