Happy New Year!
How are you? I feel like the past few weeks I haven’t been able to check one thing off my list. Once I would have said that multitasking is “the way to go”, but during the past year or so I’ve been trying to focus my immediate attention on one or sometimes a few tasks. I do like to check the boxes and get things done. And with 4 kids maybe it’s just nice to feel I’ve accomplished something tangible.
But lately, I feel I’ve been multitasking, which leaves me feeling discombobulated. Maybe it’s just the transition between years?
In any case, here’s a bit of what I’ve been working on:
My mom came over and helped me organize my solids. I’d been dreading doing this chore because my solids are all different sizes. They kind of look like half used up crayons! But we were able to fold them up and give them new life.
One day, I had a little extra time, so I made some box pouches with this Cotton and Steel canvas print. It’s from Melody Miller‘s Playful collection. I was able to finish this project!
It must have been Cotton and Steel day because that same day, I cut up my Cotton and Steel lawn fat quarters for a new quilt. The pattern is from my book, which I should be getting today!!
I (we’ve… thanks babe!) got some sewing tables to build so that I can sew in my new sewing room. It will be nice to use the dining room for you know dining…. Or homework. Or for looking clean. 🙂
And lastly, I’m working on a new tutorial for a pretty quilt using those solid blues. I happened to find the perfect backing for it! Yah! (It’s a print from Lizzy House‘s Constellation collection.) Look for the tutorial later this month.
I’m linking up with Lee’s WIP Wednesday. Hope your year is off to a great start!!
