Well it was about a year ago, I think, that I participated in the Around the World Blog Hop. Sarah of Blue Susan Makes asked if I’d like to participate and I thought it might be fun again to see how much I’ve changed or not changed.
Sarah is the co-author of Just for You: Selfish Sewing Projects from Your Favorite Sew Can She Bloggers. And she is a mom to 5 kiddos, one of whom is a tiny wittle baby boy! So sweet. ๐
What I’m working on…
Well that’s easy. I just finished quilting the quilt pictured here as a WIP. It’s the first quilt I’ve finished in 2015.
I’m also working behind the scenes on marketing for my book. Stay tuned for Monday!!
Why do you write/create what you do?
I vaguely remember my response from last year as being fairly vague as to why I feel driven to create. I feel a bit more clear on why. Maybe. At least for today.
Though, I’d love to be a novelist, I’ve always felt it a challenge to express in adequately specific words my deep thoughts. I think creating affords me the ability to discover what is intangible and flesh it out. It’s peaceful there.
How does your writing/ creating process work?
I think I said something similar last year, but usually I’ll have an idea. I’ll sketch it in my graph journal or in Illustrator. Then I’ll work out the math in my graph journal. I use a soft cover, squared Moleskine notebook. It’s perfect. I love it. Here’s a shot of ideas I was messing around with awhile ago. There actually aren’t too many pictures in my notebook, just lots of math and notes. There’s some of my favorite Bible verses and scribbles of various God-related thoughts (see bottom right hand corner). Note to self: more quilty pictures!
So that’s my around the world blog hop post. I completely forgot to email anyone to ask if they wanted to play. So is there anyone out there who wants to play? Let me know in the comments and I will officially tag you in this post.
Have a great weekend!
