Welcome to this week’s installment of the Boos and Ghouls Quilt Along. Thank you to all who are participating! You can link up below anytime during this week. But of course, you can join in anytime. So if you have a craving for ghost blocks come February, you know where to turn.
Today we will be covering cutting. But first, fabric!!!
When I first set out to make these Boos and Ghouls, I envisioned an entire quilt top made of purple and orange ghosts with black and white backgrounds.
Stop the presses. I have more orange that purple! Who am I?! |
But, instead I’m going to keep it simple and not over commit. (I literally have 4 quilt tops to quilt as this goes to publish! Eep!) I’m just planning on 2 mini-quilts made from black and white.
I also raided my scrap pile for usable scraps. These are at least 2 1/2” square.
Okay, now for the cutting. The minis will finish at 20 1/2” x 22 1/2” and each square will finish at 2”.
Boo Cutting:
White (or what will be the ghost)
From the white, or your ghost fabric, cut:
– 32 squares 2 1/2”
– 4 squares 2 7/8”. Note: I just cut 3” squares here.
– 2 rectangles 1 1/2” x 2 1/2”
Black (or background)
From the black fabric, or your background, cut:

Thanks for the cute patten! I don't have a blog to link up for pics, but I did have fun cutting and selecting fabrics from my stash. I can't wait to see how this turns out! I'm hoping to make it into a cute pillow 🙂
