I’m really enjoying sharing these Dresden plates here with you. Showing a few pictures at a time makes me feel that this beauty is getting it’s due. And I don’t feel like I am over-tiring ya’ll too much. 🙂
I think the saying goes, “they don’t make ’em like they used to.” And I think that is absolutely true here. At least in my family. 🙂
I just can’t imagine the investment of time and energy and patience and commitment that went into making this quilt. Mostly what blows my mind is the amount of hand-quilting.
And maybe it was hand-quilted at a quilting bee by a group of women. But still. So much quilting!
It was built to last.
What do you think? Could ya’ll quilt a quilt this much? Even with friends?
Have a great day friends!
That truly must have taken a ton of time! This is so beautiful, it makes me happy every time I see it!
That is some heavy quilting! Very intricate and fun to scan over each Dresden to see those tiny stitches everywhere! Thank you for sharing Becca.
I could. If there were no sewing machines, plenty of needles, thread, water, chocolate and TV 🙂 I would make no claims to be finished anytime soon though.
