In reflecting on last year and planning for this year,
I’m reminded of this poem (found in my kid’s poetry program):
Persevere
[Author Unknown]
The fisher who draws in his net too soon,
Won’t have any fish to sell;
The child who shuts up his book too soon,
Won’t learn any lessons well.
If you would have your learning stay,
Be patient – don’t learn too fast;
The man who travels a mile each day,
May get round the world at last.
The last couplet (I speak fancy yet incorrectly) is particularly meaningful to me. Me who can only do so much in working towards my self imposed goals. I’m reminded that even a little bit each day is a step towards my purpose.
It makes me happy. A little bit each day. So doable.
This week finds me detoxing from my daily hourly sweets, taking down Christmas one room at a time
and working on quilting up this quilt.

Basting underneath the remnants of Christmas |
I hope you are enjoying your after Christmas break if you get one! I certainly am.

Re-found this in my Mom's notebooks: "Besides the noble art of getting things done, there is the nobler art of leaving things undone."
