Hi again!
I hope you are recovering and enjoying a bit of a break after Christmas. Over here, I have recovered nicely thanks to my lovely mother. She got to stay an extra day because of bad weather. She watched my kids and folded all the laundry and did all the dishes and tidied up the house while I got to sew for four long hours! And then she ironed all my blocks.
Isn’t she the best?!
I miss her. Back to reality, I guess.
Anyways, these last two Christmas makes I am sharing excite me so much. There are a lot of pictures, but I can’t help myself. They are so adorable and I had a blast making these dollies up.
Here are the gifts are awaiting their new mommies under the tree.
Peak-a-boo! |
Sweet face |
My eldest daughter requested a new lovey for Christmas. Luckily I had already planned on making her one. I used the Doxie Softie pattern by Retro Mama. The only change I made was that I made each with patchwork, quilted atop of batting, similar to the Quilt-As-You-Go technique.
All ready to be stuffed! |
Here is Cora’s red-is-my-favorite-color doxie:

The eyelashes are such an elegant and girlie addition |
The doxies each bear messages inside their ears. |
Doxies need squishy hugs |
Amalie, my Texas Tornado, loves rainbows (just like her momma!),
so a Rainbow Doxie was in order!

Gimme a kiss, mwa! |
These messages are unfortunately harder to see, 🙁 It says “love me” |
This ear says “Ami’s” |
While I wanted one for myself, I was thrilled when both girls opened their doxies with delight on Christmas Eve. They loved them and clutched them tightly through Christmas movies and while they slept. The doxies have both doted on by both girls since.
Melts my heart.
I’m linking these cuties up to Finish it Up Friday!
Have a great weekend!

The pups are adorable!!!
So lovely you had your Mom there with you. I know she loves her grand babies but also loves the opportunity to 'mother' her daughter.
