Sometimes it’s nice to just stitch up something that doesn’t require creative brain power. Something that is already lovely without my “creative” meddlins.
When I saw the “Star-Crossed Love” clutch in Anna Maria’s new Needleworks Notebook, I knew I must make one for myself.
After briefly considering if I should make mine in a different color scheme,
I went with the colors the master herself had chosen*.

I started the needlework over Thanksgiving and contentedly worked on it in front of the telly or watching the kiddos play (I could watch them play all day long.).
The pinwheels stitched up beautifully, but the gold threads made the colors pop.

I knew I wanted to use a bright fabric for the lining.
So I used Sinister Swarm in Leaf. Also I added card slots and a pocket.
And my favorite: polka dots for the back. I also added zipper tabs.
Here she is in all her fuzzy glory, ready to be stuffed with chocolate and lipstick.
(You know. The essentials.)
Happy Friday!

* I actually used different but similar colors than Mrs. Horner used. Here are the Appleton skein numbers I used: 801, 976, 152, 843, 475, 944, 433, and 463
I also used 14 stitch count black Aida. The clutch turned out to be 8″ by 5″.

That's just lovely. I almost want to make one for myself. Or at least borrow the book from a mate to look through. Nice job on your finish.
