Ah, hello friends. It’s been a while, no? Maybe not too long I hope.
Lately I’ve been feeling like the Old Sailor in a poem written by A.A. Milne, of Winnie the Pooh renown.*
There was once an old sailor my grandfather knew

So many kids! So much to do! So many projects to try! I don’t know where to start. Therefore, I usually start and end on the couch.
It’s been good. π That couch is comfortable. And Madmen is entertaining. π
It has been nice stepping back from blogging not to relax (not sure that’s the right word…) but rather take the pressure off of myself. I have been enjoying my family and savoring where my kids are at, well at least trying to. π
I do have a few almost finishes to show off today. (I actually was going to sit down at the computer today and show you all sorts of things. But wouldn’t you know it the computer started acting up. Figures right? So phone photos it is!)
First, I’ve been trying so finally finish a swap for Tammy. I plan on having it to her by the next guild meeting in a few weeks.
And second a quilt for our new comfy couches.
I cut up my preciouses Oakshotts and sewed me up a plus quilt. I love it, but PLEASE advise: how should I quilt it? The colors and the fact that it is composed of shot cottons make thread selection particularly challenging.
I’m fairly certain the quilting will be in wavy flowing streams. But what thread(s)?1) Several variegated threads matching the particular warm or cool color of the fabric? Or 2) use different perles and hand quilting it.
So whatdya think?
*Wow, let me just note this moment as a time in which being a mother has made me smarter! I quote poetry y’all! π I do love Pooh. Ok, that brought me back down. Ha!

Glad to hear you're enjoying life, Becca! Your plus quilt is GORGEOUS!! Variegated thread is a good choice or even something neutral like grey. I can't wait to see this one when it's done…

Hi Becca…your quilt is fabulous. I used variegated thread on my Oakshott quilt….the one I used is by Valdani.

Your plus quilt is amazing! I don't dare make any suggestions about quilting – each alternative will make the quilt quite different – but I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do!

Hi from Europe ! Your colour scheme is so nice. I prefer hand quilting … it brings softness for quilt.
