My mom had some fabric squares stashed away. She um, *cough*, gave them to me and I made the girls baby doll quilts for Christmas.
Cora’s has her name quilted in it, down the center four squares (not shown). Amalie’s has diagonal quilting. Each is backed with soft flannel. They are each cute, but I wish I had integrated rick-rack into the binding. Doh!
I had four fabric squares left over, so made each girl a little boo-boo square. I filled them with rice and they now reside in the freezer. They could also be microwaved. Is it bad that I gave my children ice-packs for Christmas? Is it better if they were stocking stuffers?
The girls didn’t really care for them when they opened their quilts at Christmas. They don’t really compare to toys at this point. Maybe when they are older they will appreciate them. 🙂
