I feel like I cheated. I wasn’t supposed to be there. I’m not a fabric/pattern designer or monger, but somehow, I got to go to Quilt Market.
It was such an amazing experience. My friend Deirdre (of HMQG) and I wandered around for a few hours, free from the responsibilities of young children. I only got three hours to take in Market, and there is SO much I wanted to see but didn’t. But still I have a bunch of pictures to share.
One of my favorite booth’s was Kirstyn of SkipStone Creative.
Her booth was crisp and clean and full of cute projects. Plus, she was so nice!

My favorite projects are the family tree (above) and the orange applique skirt (below).
I think I’ll try the Family Tree pattern.
Of course Anna Maria‘s booth was a visual feast. I bought a signed copy of her book.
She was also very nice.
Even her handwriting is beautiful. Naturally. 🙂

I loved the blue geese on the floor (below). Do you think the hubs would go for that?
Maybe just a quilt then, with a row of geese?

I do love that feather bed quilt. Maybe a feather bed pillow is in my future?

Do you see what she did there? Geese on the quilt? Geese on the floor.

Her embroidery (above) reminds me of pillows and napkins my grandmother made.
Beautiful and classic.
Next, we met Tula Pink, who is truly a cool person. Her new fabric line is amazing. Think I’ll be buying some of that. Wish I had bought some Neptune and Prince Charming for that matter.

That hexagon quilt right there? She made it in 5 days. Poor Tula quilted her fingers off, literally. She also taught me something: when whip stitching hexagons together it is only necessary to use five or six stitches per inch or so. I usually do way way more. Apparently that eats up the fabric.
Will mind my Tula mama. 🙂

Ok that’s it for now. Even in only three hours there I saw so much. Market is awesome but overwhelming. I can’t imagine being there for the whole thing,
buuuut on the other hand it would also be equally awesomer too.
