I feel like I cheated. I wasn’t supposed to be there. I’m not a fabric/pattern designer or monger, but somehow, I got to go to Quilt Market.
It was such an amazing experience. My friend Deirdre (of HMQG) and I wandered around for a few hours, free from the responsibilities of young children. I only got three hours to take in Market, and there is SO much I wanted to see but didn’t. But still I have a bunch of pictures to share.
That hexagon quilt right there? She made it in 5 days. Poor Tula quilted her fingers off, literally. She also taught me something: when whip stitching hexagons together it is only necessary to use five or six stitches per inch or so. I usually do way way more. Apparently that eats up the fabric.
