I named it “Lucky” because of the nine four-leaf clover blocks throughout the quilt. Look, there’s one now, surrounded by hour glass blocks.
After the hourglass border there are more clovers and then a simple checkerboard border.
After more clovers we come to the final border. But I couldn’t pick just one. So there’s a herringbone type braid on two sides,
and flying geese on the other two sides.
About the quilting: I knew I wanted to do frilly quilting in each background triangle. When I first set out I wanted to hand quilt the quilt, but that proved too much.
